Our board Ceo, Cfo, and Coo work very well together. I do believe that one needs to have great communication and trust in each other to make it work. Making sure our member/owners are also part of the equation. It would be possible over a period of time to isolate member owners from decisions. Thinking of Calgary!

Angie, yes, indeed, we have all been thinking of Calgary this last little while! One day there will be some studies coming out of that case – I look forward to them very much. Communication and trust are key to successful governance. We will be going into this in depth in later modules.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the Good Governance Matters course offered by Co-operatives First. The course provided a solid background on governance generally and specific examples of good governance practices in co-operatives. It is uncommon to find governance training specific to co-operatives so this was refreshing.”
