Community-Supported Fundraising: Donations and Sponsorships for Co-ops

Co-ops have many tools for raising capital — but your co-op’s biggest supporters are probably in your own backyard. This webinar will discuss strategies and tips for raising funds from community members and businesses by soliciting donations and sponsorships. Our Director of Education, Kyle, will be joined by Entrepreneur-in-residence Cathy Edwards, who led the development of several businesses and non-profit organizations, including Heart Linked Community Service Co-op. They’ll answer some important questions for co-ops that are actively fundraising like:

  • What steps do we need to take before we approach potential donors?
  • How do we request financial supports from our business community?
  • Are there any resources available to help co-ops raise funds from their community?
  • What impact will soliciting donations have on our annual reporting?
